I’m being invited to many events in London where discussions about product management as a ‘new’ discipline in the digital publishing keep popping up. I am sure the profession originates from a long, long time ago, especially in medical, technical, and pharmaceutical industries where product lifecycle takes years or decades and QA and live testing takes double, compared to a a very short lifecycle in digital industries, sometimes measured in weeks.
If you are a digital product manager or thinking of becoming one, I would recommend signing up to Product Tank MeetUp group. For skilled training and certificates, I believe the U.S. has much more advanced courses. For example, at Pivotal Training you’ll find some great courses you can sign up for, online. Flickr is hiring for a Product Manager.
